A closely held, Gulf Coast maritime services and emergency response company with marine salvage, firefighting, spill control, deep sea diving and tugboat operations experiencing dysfunctional management, inadequate accounting, poor control and business process, employee dissatisfaction, misalignment on capital expenditures, and organizational fragmentation.


As Managing Director, performed a comprehensive organizational assessment and provided recommendations and advice.

Recommended a complete organizational restructuring whose elements included shareholder/management realignments from current roles into equalized shareholder/advisory roles and formation of a family foundation.

Recommended the appointment of an interim CEO or empower current SVP with mandate to implement a modern, highly functional, accountable management and operational structure modernization, including integration of multiple companies and departments to improve efficiency and profitability.

Engaged a professional organizational development analyst to administer validated behavioral assessments to key family members to reveal and harness their talent, skills and weaknesses and to discover and enable necessary organizational change.


The company promoted and empowered the current SVP to the President role who elevated a key employee to the COO role, thereby unifying management cohesion.
