Case Study
Hospital System (FA)
The Fire
The Hospital had no experience in running a hospice program and physician support was unclear.
Build-out, G&A and related cost concerns existed related to starting and providing an in-patient hospice facility.
The Rescue
Conducted a feasibility study and develop a start-up process necessary to establish hospice services and provide project management oversight during the hospice start-up process.
Reviewed the market, data and analytics required in the feasibility study scope of work to present to the Board of Directors, that would allow it to decide the viability of establishing the program.
Generated support within the physician group and support of the community for projected fundraising efforts underlying such establishment efforts.
The Result
The Board of Directors approved the hospice project, irrespective of cost concerns, placing the mission of the hospital system before profit.
