Paul Maniscalco, Senior Managing Director

Paul Maniscalco is a Senior Managing Director for MACCO based out of the Denver, CO office. He has over 25 years of experience in corporate finance, capital market transactions, business restructuring and chapter 11 bankruptcy. He has a strong background in SEC reporting and compliance issues, including leading complex debt/equity transactions.

Paul’s financial reporting and accounting expertise is derived from advising corporations from inception through maturity in various industries most notably, cryptocurrency, cannabis, oil & gas E&P, and mining, where he has served in financial leadership roles. His focus and understanding of operational accounting, cash flow, budgeting and forecasting, and implementation of accounting systems and internal controls, allows him to rapidly make astute assessments to practically advise clients in financial and operational distress.  

Paul has advised multiple public and private companies, represented buyers and sellers in due diligence reviews and in the assessment of financial operations where he identified opportunities to increase the enterprise values.

Prior to MACCO, Paul served as CFO to several publicly traded oil & gas companies through his own consulting firm. His career began at a “Big Four” and regional accounting firms. He holds dual Bachelor degrees in accounting and health administration from Florida Atlantic University.

Notable Assignments

  • Served as principal Financial Advisor to a publicly traded cannabis cpg company in a successful 6-month turnaround. Led initial assessment phase and developed a rapid response to reduce a cash-burn of $2MM/month; mentored CFO and focused accounting group; investigated and reduced annual overhead by $4MM together with a 50% reduction in headcount while optimizing organizational roles; rationalized and proposed 6:1 reverse stock transaction.

  • As principal Financial Advisor in the first major U.S. crypto-currency chapter 11 case, led a team of professionals to investigate, review, assess and report on highly complicated bitcoin, fiat and investment instruments and transactions. Successfully confirmed a plan working collaboratively with professionals for the UCC and their counsel.

  • As CFO to a start-up oil & gas company, implemented accounting department systems and internal controls including SEC reporting and compliance activities.
